Park to Spark™ visited Washington, DC this past weekend. We park the Ford Fusion Energi (or Chevy Volt) at the Shady Grove Metro station for the weekend. We find this is the best way to visit DC and avoid traffic, parking, and other transport nightmares in the area.
We get the added bonus of BYOC (Bring Your Own Cord) EV Charging. This overnight charge fills the battery of our PHEV (Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle) for part of the trip back to the HQ near Pittsburgh.
This alphabet soup (PHEV, BYOC, EV) shows how EVs with a backup gas engine on-board can travel a 440 mile round trip with ease. Our Fusion averaged over 50 MPG for the trip thanks in part to charging at the HQ and in the Parking Garage.
Please Contact Us to discuss your strategy for EV charging and EV (or PHEV) driving. We’ll help you figure out the alphabet soup of adding sustainability to your parking lot.
